Magistrate Jami L. Bishop graduated with honors from Ohio University in 2000 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree. She went on to obtain her Juris Doctorate Degree, also with honors, from the University of Akron School of Law in 2003. In 2004, she completed her post-graduate degree of Master of Taxation from the University of Akron.
Magistrate Bishop began her legal career in private practice where she represented clients involving criminal defense, domestic relations, probate, and bankruptcy matters. She also acted as a Guardian Ad Litem, advocating for the interests of children in divorce, custody, abuse and neglect cases. From 2009-2013 Magistrate Bishop served as a Magistrate in the Trumbull County Probate Court where she handled guardianships, minor guardianships, minor settlements, name changes, and estates. Magistrate Bishop was appointed to the Trumbull County Court of Common Pleas General Division in 2013.
Magistrate Bishop serves as the chair of the Trumbull County Bar Association High School Mock Trial Committee, a position she has held for fifteen years. She has served on the board of the Trumbull County Law Library Association since 2007.
Magistrate Bishop has been married to Judge Marty D. Nosich for 10 years and they are the parents of two sons.
