MAGISTRATE ANTHONY M. CORNICELLI


Magistrate Anthony M. Cornicelli was originally appointed as the first Trumbull County Common Pleas Court, General Division Referee in 1991. The terminology for “Referee” was later re-designated as “Magistrate”.  He has continuously served in that capacity since that time.  In 1997, he was appointed to also serve as Court Administrator and additionally serves as the Court Mediator and oversees the Court’s mediation program.

Magistrate Cornicelli is a lifelong resident of Trumbull County.  He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of Cincinnati in 1975 where he graduated with honors.  He attained his Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Akron Law School in 1979.  He was admitted to the Ohio Bar that same year and was engaged in the general private practice of law until his appointment to the General Division bench in 1991.  He also was admitted to practice law in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Ohio in 1980.

Magistrate Cornicelli is a current member of the Trumbull County Bar Association where he served as President from 1997-1998.  He is also a member of the Ohio State Bar Association and the Ohio Association of Magistrates.
